On August 21, 2025, the Middle School Raptors played their first Flag Football game of the season, facing off in a tough matchup that ended in a 28–8 loss.

The game opened with the opposing team striking first with a touchdown. The Raptors quickly answered back with a touchdown of their own, but momentum shifted as the opponents regained the lead. A dramatic play came when the Raptors intercepted a two-point conversion and returned it for a score, closing the gap to 12–8 before halftime.

In the second half, the Raptors struggled to find consistency on offense. Multiple incomplete passes and interceptions gave their opponents more opportunities to score. Despite moments of strong defense, the opposing team managed to extend their lead with additional touchdowns and successful conversions, sealing the game 28–8.

After the game, Coach Mahome reflected on the loss, stating, “We just weren’t the better team today. They were better coached and had better confidence. This reflects our practice and our effort, and it shows that we need to put more in.”

Though the Raptors fell short, the season is just beginning, and the team looks to build on this experience as they prepare for their next matchup.

  • 1st Quarter: Opponents score first; Raptors respond with a touchdown. Score tied 6–6.

  • 4th Quarter: Opponents add another touchdown and conversion. Final score: 28–8.
